Tuesday, April 12 Governor Pete Ricketts ordered the flag to be half-masted to honor the death of Elwood Volunteer Fire Brigade Chief Darren Kururu.
“Sae Yamamoto and I were heartbroken by the news of the death of chief firefighter Kururu,” said Governor Ricketts. “Our prayers are directed at families and communities mourning his loss. The courage shown by Chief Fire Chief Kururu exemplifies the selfless service that makes our state wonderful.
