Flooding impacts roads, neighborhoods across Green Country – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa, Oklahoma — In Owasso, Oklahoma, heavy rains caused massive floods along the road, flooding drainage systems.

The flood not only affected the roads in Owasso, but also the entire region of Sperry, Oklahoma.

At Second St. and Ada St., the entire front yard has been transformed into a pool.

“If it was higher than this, there wouldn’t be a house,” said Keith Jacobsen.

The storm surge threatened his house. He went out for business. When he got home, the water was just above his floorline.

“In less than five minutes, it began to rain,” he said. “We got here, but we’ve already crossed the driveway.”

The flood water did not reach into his house, but his neighbors, who lived just below the block, did not escape as well.

“The neighbor I talked about earlier, maybe about 5-6 inches at home,” he said.

Jacobsen said he was worried that if it continued to rain, he would lose everything he had.
