Florence, South Carolina (WBTW) — The Florence County Sheriff’s Office offers a $ 1,000 sign-on bonus as a way to solve staff shortages.
Major Mike Nan of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office said authorities are aiming to hold 15 positions for patrol agents and investigators.
“When the adjutant Patrol receives the report, it is sent to the investigator and it is decided whether to proceed with it,” he said. “Therefore, to take these complaints to the next level, we need talented, qualified and experienced personnel in the survey.”
Employees are leaving the agency because of public opinion, wages, and pandemics, Nan said.
“We are working to improve that image and improve wage levels, and hopefully we can attract truly talented people to law enforcement.
Agencies can increase their starting payments to $ 32,054 for uncertified agents and $ 37,272 for certified agents with a $ 1,000 bonus. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
“We just want to encourage qualified people who want a career in law enforcement, but there’s no better time than now, but if that’s just the job you’re looking for, this is probably you. Not for, “Nan said. “Law enforcement is a call, and it’s important to embrace that idea.”
