Clearwater, Florida (WFLA) – 59-year-old Sharon Lynn Brindamour has been accounting for two years at the GFWC Women’s Club of Clearwater, during which she was found stealing thousands of dollars.

Pinellas County Sheriff Travis Sibley yible explained that the club contacted authorities after the change in management. The book didn’t look right.

“During that time, she embezzled over $ 160,000 in charitable donations for her personal use,” said Sibley Corp Corp. “She went to Hard Rock in Tampa, Hard Rock in Fort Lauderdale, Harras in Biloxi, Mississippi, and spent her car insurance.”

The head of the local GFWC branch declined to comment. However, GFWC President Dianne Foerster made the following statement:

GFWC Florida is aware of an unfortunate issue at Clearwater’s GFWC Woman’s Club. Each GFWC member club functions independently in its organization, finance and activities. The behavior in question of one member does not reflect the goals or objectives of the club, GFWC Florida, or the Federation of General Women’s Clubs.

The money raised by Clearwater’s GFWC Women’s Club benefits local charities and nonprofits such as Clearwater Free Clinics.

“Our mission is to help improve the health of the entire community,” said Meredith Reggin, director of development at the clinic.

CEO Genie Shapiro explains that it’s hard for someone to rob you of the money you need.

“We don’t receive funding from government, state, or local government agencies,” says Shapiro. “That is, everything we raise is through the community.”

Eight on Your Side caught up with Brindamour leaving the county prison after paying a $ 50,000 deposit.

Sharon Brindamour left the county detention center and said, “I’m sorry.”

She was silent except “I’m sorry”. However, Sibley Corp Corp. says he explained his actions to the detective.

“And she said she told the detective that it was too easy,” Sibley said.
