New York >> Foo Fighters will hold two tribute concerts in London and Los Angeles in September in honor of the late rock band drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The Twin Show will take place on September 3rd at Wembley Stadium in London and September 27th at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA. “The band said in a statement. The lineup for each show will be announced at a later date.
Hawkins died on March 25 during a South American tour with a rock band. He was 50 years old.
Taylor’s wife, Allison, used social media to thank the band and their fans for their support. She said, “To celebrate his life, it’s up to all of us who loved him the most to celebrate Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.”
Hawkins was Alanis Morissette’s tour drummer when he joined the Foo Fighters in 1997, and was the first to appear with the band on a tour supporting his sophomore album, The Color & The Shape.
He made his recording debut with the Foo Fighters in 1999 with “Nothing to Lose”. Hawkins performed on all subsequent band albums such as “One by One” and “In Your Honor” and hit singles such as “Best of You”.
After Hawkins’ death, the band canceled the tour. At the Grammy Awards on April 3, a tribute to Hawkins was performed before the show’s In-Memorial segment, celebrating the deceased artists and music industry figures. Billie Eilish wore a black T-shirt in his image in honor of Hawkins during the performance.
