‘Food on the Move’ looking for help on ‘Giving Tuesday’ – Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa, Oklahoma 2021-11-30 17:01:32 –

Tulsa, Oklahoma-Giving Tuesday is National Foundation Day, which is always held on Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It was a very important day for local nonprofits.

Among them is the food of Tulsa on the move. Helps deliver fresh produce to people with limited access to grocery stores. This organization has been supporting the Northern Tulsa community since 2014.

On this GivingTuesday, organizations are looking for volunteers and donations to help more people. According to Food on the Move, 20% of Tulsa students are food deficient. Their goal is not only to reduce that number, but also to provide people with healthy choices.

Food on the Move wants to raise $ 10,000 to replenish food to survive the winter season.

“We want to bring this food to our children so that they can eat, the family is healthy, everyone is on the right track to get together and succeed,” said the executive. Director Kevin Harper said.

Food on the Move hosts a monthly block party, handing out fresh food and other necessary items. It will be held on Tuesday night from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Greenwood Cultural Center. The organization is still looking for volunteers. To know how you can help click here.
