Agape Health Services has purchased a property in the former Wells Fargo on South Market Street. The organization hasn’t officially announced the use of the building, but Agape employees said they would be headquartered on social media.

Wells Fargo notified customers of its next plan last December Close main street location.. The branch was officially closed in March and the building has been vacant since then.

According to county records, the certificate for this property currently belongs to Metropolitan Community Health Services, which operates as Agape Health Services. The parking lot outside the building is also privately owned, so there is a sign in the area indicating that the public parking lot is no longer available as of June 14. The sign says that anyone who violates the rule will be towed. ..

Agape is a non-profit, federal-accredited medical center that, according to its website, provides “direct primary and preventive care, dentistry, pharmacies, and behavioral health services to residents of eastern North Carolina.”

Agape already has clinics in Washington and Williamston and is currently expanding to Plymouth. The Washington Clinic is located at 120 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, within walking distance of the newly acquired property.

Agape plays a key role in Beaufort County’s efforts to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, acting as both a test site and a vaccine provider.
