A former private California Orthodontic and Rehabilitation Department employee was sentenced to two years on probation on Thursday for contacting a minor for sex, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant District Attorney Joseph Kinsel said other conditions in Ricardo Mansilus’s decision included not being allowed to interact with minors and children frequently. Only the probation department can approve these interactions.

Mancillas must also submit to search for his property, electronics and provide the protection observer with all computer and internet passwords. He also needs to complete a sex offender management program and register as a sex offender.

Defendant was arrested in a 2020 Kern County Sheriff’s Office operation aimed at arresting online child predators. Undercover agents disguised as minors online were contacted by people like Mansilus.

KCSO’s agent arrested 14 other people on similar charges during a three-month sting operation.
