KOAA News 5 is honored to award this award to people in Southern Colorado and needs your help to discover these gems in our community.
This month’s winners have been serving those in need in Colorado Springs for decades. His name is Larry Yonker, a former CEO of the Springs Rescue Mission. His compassion for the homeless helped expand his mission and provide the homeless in office with a community of hope.

Launched by Jacqueline Kennedionasis in 1972, the Jefferson Awards have celebrated the incredible spirit and unique achievements of more than 63,000 national and local heroes.
