Topeka, Kansas (KSNT) – Governor Laura Kelly has appointed a former Topeka Hospital executive as the new secretary to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Janet Stanek has recently been Director of the State Employee Health Insurance Program. She will replace Dr. Lenorman, who announced his resignation on November 19.

Norman received attention at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and was recognized as the state’s leading expert on this issue.
