The French Quarter restaurant and bar, Longwaiter Barn, which closed in February, has been reopened with the same owner and a new name.
The business is now called The Will & The Way and is described as a small plate wine bar paired with a cocktail.
The Will & The Way menu at 719 Toulouse Street includes pork, burgers, salads, bar snacks, bottled cocktails, beer and wine. Josh Williams is an executive chef and Tommy Linville is a beverage director.
LeBlanc + Smith said he opened the Longway Tavern in 2018 and will “reorganize” when the doors close. Based in New Orleans, the company also operates Sylvain, Barrel Proof, and Chloe, a new hotel and restaurant on St. Charles Avenue.
According to a news release announcing the opening of The Will & The Way, “After an eerie and quiet year in the French Quarter, we have the warmth and cheerfulness to make our neighborhood a beloved destination for locals and travelers. I longed for it. “
LeBlanc + Smith closed the French Quarter restaurant Meauxbar a year ago due to a pandemic problem. Their restaurant, Cavan, on Magazine Street closed in September.
