Former MPD Chief Morales to WTMJ: ‘Time to put MKE in rearview mirror’ – Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Milwaukee, Wisconsin 2021-09-28 13:22:03 –

Alfonso Morales looks forward to being called the “chief” again.

“That’s great,” the new Fitchburg police chief told WTMJ John Mercure on Tuesday. “I’m very excited. It’s time for a new chapter in my life and a new start.”

Former Milwaukee police chief was appointed as Fitchburg police chief on Monday. His career has been at a loss since he was demoted to “captain” by the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission in 2020. After months of legal debate, the judge overturned his demotion and the city agreed to a $ 627,000 settlement with Morales.

Morales did not comment on how his time in Milwaukee ended.

“Maybe it will appear in the book someday,” he laughed. “My memories will always be wonderful. (But) it’s time to put Milwaukee in my rearview mirror.”
