Former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell dies of Covid’s complications

His family said in a statement Monday that US Secretary of State Colin Powell, a high-ranking military leader, had died of 84-year-old Covid-19-related complications.

“Former US Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Colin L. Powell, died this morning due to Covid-19 complications,” the Powells said on their Facebook page.

“He was completely vaccinated. Thanks to the caring treatment of the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center. We have a remarkable loving husband, father, grandfather, and great Americans. I lost it. ”

Powell was America’s top diplomat during the George W. Bush administration during the Iraq War, which began in 2003, and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the time of President George HW Bush.

Powell, a Republican, supported Barack Obama for the president in a competition with John McCain in 2008. He supported Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election against Donald Trump.
