Golden, Colorado — A man who previously worked as a law enforcement officer and then as an investigator at the District Attorney’s Office faces multiple accusations on suspicion of sexually assaulting three women.
Alexis King, a lawyer in the First District of Justice, charged Wayne Darrell Nelson, 68, with seven charges of sexual assault against three women between April 2018 and December 2020 on Friday. The women told detectives that they were afraid to report Nelson because Nelson was a retired police officer.
Nelson was transferred to Jefferson County Jail on Thursday. He is detained with $ 5,000 in cash or a deposit.
