Oxford, Massachusetts. (WHDH) – On Friday morning, a flame swallowed Oxford’s home and a family of four lost their home.

The fire broke out all night on Leicester Street after midnight, and firefighters said one resident suffered severe burns on up to 70% of their bodies. The rest of the family were also taken to the hospital and checked out.

The people inside included two teens: a mother and an uncle. The chief of the fire department told 7NEWS that his uncle jumped out of the window on the second floor to escape the flames and suffered two and three burns at home.

Police officers were also taken to the hospital to inhale the smoke.

The house was completely burnt, the second floor collapsed to the first floor, and it was dangerous for the fire brigade to enter.

The State Fire Marshal Office is investigating the cause of the fire, but it is said that the smoke detector was operating at the time of the fire.
