“Sips for Sealife” is an annual event that supports the Texas Sea Life Center Corpus Christi and brings together local vendors.
Corpus Christi, Texas — The 4th Annual “Sips for Sea Life” fundraising activity took place on Saturday afternoon at the Lorelei Brewing Company. The event is a partnership between a local brewery and Corpus Christi’s Texas Sea Life Center.
“We have a beer of the day called Matilda. It’s a Belgian blonde in raspberries, and $ 1 for every beer sold benefits our center,” said a volunteer at the Texas Sea Life Center. One Jamie McWilliams said. “There are vendors of silent auctions, live music and food trucks.”
Trevor Belicek, co-owner and brewery of the Lorelei Brewing Company, says he wants to see the impact of the winter freeze on the marine life center and provide help.
“This is a great way to give back to them for everything they did, as they have so many turtles that they freeze and they are moving their ass to do as much as they can. It was an opportunity, “said Verisek.
According to McWilliams, events like Saturday are very important because the center is run solely by donations.
“All penny made for us goes back directly to animal care, because we are run only by volunteers,” McWilliams said.
The fund-raising activities supported not only the animals that call the coastal bend home, but also small and medium-sized enterprises.
“This event is a great opportunity for several other vendors to be here. There are local boutiques, jewelry stores, and another great jewelery business, Tula Blue. Here is the local. There are artists from the stalls. “
Both McWilliams and Belicek say it’s all about helping your neighbor
“It’s one of our most important things, we need to help the locals and we need to turn our backs on each other,” says McWilliams.
