Cardinals’ Albert Pujols becomes fourth player to hit 700 home runs

It was a great run for Pujols. It was his 14th home run and 21st of the season since the beginning of August with the NL Central-leading Cardinals.

He set a career high in 2006 with 49 home runs. This is one of his seven seasons in which he has hit at least his 40 home runs. He led the majors in his 2009 with his 47 home runs and surpassed his NL in 2010 with his 42 home runs.

Pujols left St. Louis as a free agent in December 2011 and signed a 10-year, $240 million contract with the Angels. After he was fired by the Angels in May 2021, he joined the Dodgers, where he has 12 homers and 38 RBIs in 85 games.
