The company states that the bag is labeled with product code S296. According to Fresh Express, recalls are being carried out with great care in the unlikely event that products that have passed the expiration date of 8 days still remain in stores or homes.
According to the company, the recalled products were distributed primarily in the western and southwestern states of the United States, including Hawaii.
No illness has been reported so far in connection with the recall. A recall was prompted after one of the expired products gave a positive result against E. coli in a random sample test. E. coli can cause diarrhea, severe gastric spasm, and vomiting. Most people recover within a week, but some illnesses can last longer and become more severe.
