Fresno, Calif. (KFSN)-Fresno City Hall employee Daniel Guy was convicted of five felony charges this week in connection with the 2019 domestic violence incident.

City council member Gary Bredefeld’s assistant city council did not allow Tuesday to dispute three assaults by means that could cause physical injury, child abuse, danger, and serious physical injury.

He also resigned from his position in the city on Wednesday.

A representative of Fresno County Sheriff, who arrested Guy, said he returned home drunk and fought his girlfriend at the time.

They say he threw her to the floor, choked her, and threatened to kill her.

Congressman says he also attacked another woman and knocked down her girlfriend while she was holding her baby.

Guy was tried this week to fight two charges of felony strike criminal intimidation.

His lawyer, Eric Schweitzer, said Action News Guy got drunk after drinking a few whiskeys.
Spontaneous poisoning may be used as a defense against certain intentional crimes, including the threat of crime.
They also believe that someone put a drug in what Guy had to take, raising the level of his disability.

Councilor Bredefeld testified in his trial in support of Guy as a witness to the character.

The judge will determine the remaining charges later this month.
