Fresno food truck needs community’s help after being hit by semi-truck – Fresno, California

Fresno, CA (KFSN)-Fresno companies are seeking community support for repairing or replacing food trailers.

Fresno Gumbo House has been offering gumbo and seafood platters since 2015. Last year, owner Chef 19 bought a trailer to expand his business.

He took the trailer to Victorville, Southern California and created a design with his logo and menu added to the trailer. There was a delay in the printing process, so he decided to return it to Fresno and return to his work.

While driving west on Highway 58 on Sunday afternoon, a cicada was pushed behind the trailer, the trailer flipped, and the truck spun out of control.

“I was in the next lane and I was hit by £ 77,000 before I was able to get over the next lane completely,” said Chef 19.

Chef 19 says he and his family dream of opening a physical restaurant one day, and perhaps even expanding into a franchise.

Having a trailer helped move that dream forward.

Now he is forced to take a step back and focus on repairing the trailer or raising money to buy a new one.

“Whatever help we get, it’s very grateful. We’re just going to keep crushing and save every dime, every penny,” he said.
