Fresno police officer injured while chasing drunk suspect – Fresno, California

Fresno, Calif. (KFSN)-Fresno police arrested a man they said Thursday night at risk to the lives of their children.

Officials say it first happened near Ventura, and on the 8th around 9:30 pm.

When police arrived, they said it was unclear what was happening until the man discovered that he was in a homely situation with his child’s mother.

Police said the man eventually drove with his child and was very drunk.

The woman tracked the man and Fresno police aviation forces were able to help find the suspect.

Officers found a man near Sierra Vista Avenue and E. Cambridge Avenue.

When police officers tried to arrest the man, they said he ran away and jumped over the fence into the backyard.

During the walking chase, one of the police officers injured his knee while trying to jump over the fence.

The suspect was finally arrested. The child turned out to be safe in the car.

Police say the suspect has multiple previous arrests and convictions for drunk driving.

The child reunited with his mother.
