They were created by 31-year-old Vanessa Diaz and are labeled “Necessary Kidneys: Type O”.
But what Decal doesn’t say is that Vanessa’s kidney search is twice as important.
Her husband, Timothy Trotter, and grandmother, Francis Quintello, both have polycystic kidney disease, are on dialysis, and are in desperate need of a type O donor.
“Both of these two people near me need this organ to survive, that’s what we’re doing,” Vanessa said.
This is how the decal idea came about. Waiting for the kidneys can be up to eight years, and Vanessa wants to play two games sooner for her loved ones.
“There are so many different criteria that you have to meet just right to be a perfect match, and unfortunately we haven’t come across that person or those people yet,” she said. ..
Multiple family and friends did not match, but they helped spread the word to perfect a stranger who would be happy to give a gift of life.
“We got so much reaction that I have hope,” Vanessa said.
As a result of car stickers and magnets, 10 people tried to become a Timothy or Francis kidney match but failed.
But Vanessa remains optimistic.
“Someone posted it on Twitter and it got almost 3,000 retweets, so I hope this helps find a donor before that eight-year timeline,” she said.

“One kidney can lead a perfectly healthy life,” Vaness said. “Since screening is so powerful, the transplant center will not collect your kidneys if they do not think they can lead a long and healthy life with the remaining kidneys.”
