Denver – Crew Straight creek fire Burning off the south side of Interstate 70 between Silverthorn and the Eisenhower-Johnson Memorial Tunnel completely contained Sunday. As of Saturday night, eight acres of fire were 80% contained.
On Saturday, about 50 firefighters made steady progress, strengthening containment lines and clearing large numbers of dead and fallen trees in the burned area. Tue did not see growth overnight on Friday.
