Gaffney, South Carolina (WSPA) – A Gaffney man was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole after the 2019 murder.
According to the Spartanberg Solicitors Office, 25-year-old Diante J. Willis was found guilty of murder and possession of weapons during a violent crime after a three-day jury trial ended Thursday night.
Reported earlier Willis shot dead 27-year-old Jerry Lee Skullf Jr. on May 3, 2019.
A member of Ceroki County found the body of Skullf Jr. in the middle of the road in front of Coach Hill Drive’s house.
Witnesses told the agent that Skullf Jr. was standing in front of the house when Willis approached him. The two started a discussion.
According to the law firm, Willis pulled out his pistol and fired multiple ammunition.
Willis ran towards the house in Raintree Lane after the shooting. The agent detained Willis about 45 minutes after the short foot chase.
Willis will be sentenced to full imprisonment, officials said. His criminal record includes three robbery and convictions for a disturbing school.
