Blue Springs, Missouri—Two gymnasts from the Great American Waffle Express in Blue Springs were selected for the US Olympic Trials in St. Louis later this month.

Kara Eaker and Leanne Wong, who are training at GAGE, Performance at the US Gymnastics Championships last weekendWong was 5th in all rounds and Eaker was 10th.

Now it’s time for the women to prepare to shine on a bigger stage.

Eaker and Wong are training twice a day to prepare for the Games to decide who will represent the United States at the Olympic Games in Tokyo next month.

“In the last two weeks, we will train as hard as we can and improve as much as we can to reach the peak,” Wong said. “We’re just ready to get good results for the Olympic trial.”

The third GAGE ​​gymnast, Aleah Finnegan, participated in the national championship and finished in 23rd place overall. She was not eligible for trial.

“She’s great,” GAGE ​​coach Al Fong said of Finnegan. “Not everyone can succeed. In this wonderful sport of ours, there are always people left behind. They can always give 110%, which broke the hearts of everyone. But , We all continue. She is the future biggest supporter of these two girls. “

Finnegan’s gymnastics career is not over. She will be competing in LSU from the fall.

The National Gymnastics Olympic Trial will begin on June 24th in St. Louis and air on 41 Action News.
