Fort Valley, Georgia — During this year’s homecoming at Fort Valley State University (FVSU) scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2021, a man from the Gamma Zeta branch of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., College and Alumni Brothers Celebrate the 75th anniversary as a branch of the campus. The Gamma Zeta branch was chartered on November 11, 1946.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Was founded on December 4, 1906, on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, NY. Thus, it is America’s oldest Black Fraternity founded by college students. Alpha Phi Alpha’s purpose is “human behavior, scholarships, and love for all humanity.” To that end, the Alpha Phi Alpha – Gamma Zeta Legacy Fund was established over a year ago to help raise funds to donate to the FVSU Foundation. The Steering Committee was established to solicit donations from all current and former Gamma Zeta Brothers, as well as fellow Alpha Brothers and fraternity friends.

The Steering Committee will make a $ 100,000 “Big Check” donation to the FVSU Foundation at some point during the homecoming game on Saturday. After the match, under the Alpha Tent, there will also be a simplified program with recorded speeches and scrolling presentations from decades of FVSU Alpha.

Hosted by FVSU Wildcats

Clark Atlanta University Panthers.
