Georgetown, South Carolina (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating a powerful armed robbery in Georgetown on Sunday night.
Georgetown police officers say they responded to the TD Bank parking lot outside Front Street around 7 pm after receiving reports of the robbery that had just occurred.
According to officials, the suspect confirmed that he was a law enforcement officer for a female victim and asked for a driver’s license.
Then he reached for the woman’s car and demanded money, they say. The suspect took $ 80.00 from the victim’s wallet before leaving the scene.
Authorities described the suspect as a 180-pound black man about 6 feet tall and with a mustache and chin. He wore a green military jacket and ball cap.
They say the suspect was seen driving a red SUV, perhaps the Nissan Murano.
