Gold “lotus flower” pendant from the time of Queen Nefertiti found in Cyprus

A precious jeweled “lotus flower” pendant, similar to that worn by Queen Nefertiti of ancient Egypt, was unearthed in a series of tombs in Cyprus. Pendants are one of the hundreds of gorgeous burial items found around the Mediterranean region, including gems, pottery and gems.

Archaeologists on the new Swedish Cyprus expedition first unearthed two Bronze Age tombs in the ancient city of Hala Sultan Tekke in 2018, both in the basement. Overlapping with each other, it suggests that the burial chamber has been used for several generations.
