The beach also hosts the Puri Beach Festival which is co-sponsored by the Indian Ministry of Tourism, the city of Odisha, the Development Commissioner of Handicrafts and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center Kolkata.

The beach is 2.4km from Puri Railway Station.One can find a wide range of hotels near the beach ranging from pocket friendly ones to luxury suites.

The Puri Beach Festival

The Puri Beach Festival is celebrated annually in the month of November for about five days. This year the festival will be held for a span of seven of 7 days.

The festival is a joyful event. People from different parts of the country come to rejoice in this celebration. One can get all of Odisha and its culture on a platter by taking part in this colourful event. The festival is a celebration of the art, craft, sports and cuisine of Odisha.

Evenings are lighted up with traditional dance performances, songs and drama. Traditional beach sports like volleyball, kabadi, pole and gymnastics are also organized.

The whole beach experience mixed with melodious classical music makes the aura of the place extremely captivating.

Food is another major attraction in this festival. The beach experiences visitors throughout the day.

Being close to the holy ‘Shree Jagannath Temple’ the Golden Beach of Puri has a spiritual importance associated to it. Devotees bathe in the waters of the beach.

The Puri Beach Festival is a fun and frolic event and guarantees five days of ultimate bliss to each and every tourist.

Evenings on the Golden Beach of Puri

Evenings are entirely a different experience on the beach. The essence of spirituality also reflects in the whole environment of the place.  The cool breeze on the shore scrapes away every tension and worry from one’s mind, body and soul.
