Gwyneth Paltrow’s stand-alone Goop store in Notting Hill, London, has completely closed. The store opened in 2018, and news of its permanent closure came in the UK in 2019, with a short application at Companies House. Was shown to have lost more than £ 1 million (the last year the account was submitted).
Losses are likely to have increased, given that the following year was dominated by a pandemic and the store was closed most of the time.
However, the UK web store is still open.
Gwyneth was founded while Paltrow was still married to Coldplay’s Chris Martin and lived in the United Kingdom. However, the business is currently based in the United States, and while the UK may not accept it as a physical store concept, the value of the company is estimated at around £ 191m.
In 2018, we opened our first permanent store in Los Angeles and regularly operate pop-ups in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
