Cleveland (WJW) —Governor Mike DeWine joined Tracy McCool and Gabe Spiegel at 5 pm on Fox 8 News to discuss the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.
On Thursday, the state broke the record for most reported cases of coronavirus in one day. Over the last 24 hours, the Ohio Department of Health has been notified of 3,590 cases.
“About three and a half weeks ago, this hit us. Many doctors, medical professionals, and health professionals said that in winter, late autumn, when the temperature began to drop, people returned to the interior and more inside. I spent a lot of time predicting that the virus would come out. Frankly, I didn’t expect it to be so exciting, “Governor Dewin said.
He said the coronavirus epidemic seems to be occurring more often in people’s private lives, not in bars and restaurants, which makes it difficult to control.
“We see the spread of people in our personal lives, and that’s not the area where governments actually have the ability to enter or do business,” DeWine said. ..
He said he would eventually remain vigilant and it was up to the residents to continue wearing masks. He also strongly recommends gathering in large groups, especially as the holidays approach.
