Governor Tony Evers declared a state-wide emergency after a heavy storm from Wednesday night to Thursday morning.
Storms caused widespread damage, collapsed trees and power lines, power outages, and road closures due to debris.
In a press release, Evers said: “Last night’s storm affected communities from the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan, causing widespread damage to many areas. Wisconsinites are resilient, I’m first responders, utilities, and our state. I know a lot of the whole is working to respond today. I announced an emergency declaration this morning and can work together to get the support and support the community needs and use state resources. will do so.”
Executive orders direct state agencies to help those affected by the storm.
