Atlanta, Georgia (CBS46)-Governor Brian Kemp has announced that $ 47 million will be available to the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund from August 1. The Office of Management and Budget distributes these resources throughout the application process.
The purpose of the GEER II Fund is to provide the emergency assistance needed as a result of COVID-19 to local education authorities (LEA), higher education institutions (IHE), and other education-related organizations.
Governor Brian Kemp said:
“Looking back on past grades, Georgia’s education system has endured many challenges and remained resilient. This second GEER dollar will make strategic investments in the education system, leading and supporting schools. Helps empower staff, teachers and students.
The application period is from August 1st to August 31st.
The funds will be available until September 30, 2023.
