Lexington, Kentucky — Former Kentucky University Attack Coordinator and Running Back Coach Eddie Gran returns to the program to become Head Coach’s Special Assistant.

Gran led the Wildcat attack from 2016 to 20 and in 2019 Wildcat set new records in the lashing yard (3,624), lashing TD (36) and yard per lashing attempt (6.32). ..

“I am grateful that someone with Eddie Gran’s experience has rejoined our program in a different position,” said Mark Stoops, head football coach in the United Kingdom. “Eddie has a wealth of experience in a variety of fields. He will be an asset to me and our program.”

Gran was replaced after the 2020 season as Kentucky went in another direction on the offense and hired Liam Cohen as an offense coordinator.

“Why am I coming back? It’s easy. I love Kentucky. I love working with Stoops and want to be a positive role model in the lives of these young men. “I will,” Gran said. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to return to this program and help as much as I can. This is a special place where I want to work and finish my career.”

As a head coach’s special assistant, Gran does not coach in the field, but plays a role behind the scenes at Wildcats.
