Jackson County, Missouri (KCTV)-A Grandview man was charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman on Monday, leading to a confrontation with police.

According to Jackson County Prosecutor, 46-year-old Clinton R. Everhart was charged with two sodomy or attempted sodomy charges of kidnapping and illegal possession of firearms.

According to a statement of witnesses in court documents, Everhart shot a man in a car in Kansas City and detained a female victim in the car.

From independence, Everhart took a 24-year-old woman to a 13600-block residence in Cypress, Grand View.

So he injected her with drugs and sexually assaulted her.

Everhart did not respond when the police were called to the residence.

The SWAT team eventually placed him in the crawl space below the dwelling. He had a rifle beside him.

The standoff lasted almost 10 hours.

Prosecutor requested a cash deposit of $ 100,000
