Grayson Allen poured the best 30 points of the season to help Memphis Grizzlies beat host Atlanta Hawks 131-113 on Wednesday night.
With Memphis winning four times in a row, Jonas Valančina scored 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Ja Morant added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
Dillon Brooks scored 17 points and Kyle Anderson provided Grizzlies with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.
Bogdan Bogandovich scored 24 points, Trae Young scored 14 points and 11 assists, and the Hawks won four consecutive games.
Onieka Okonu added 13 points and 11 rebounds, Lou Williams and Kevin Huerter each scored 13 points, and Solomon Hill scored 10 points in Atlanta.
The Hawks played without John Collins (ankle), Clint Capela (Achilles) and Danilo Gallinari (ankle).
Tyus Jones gave the Grizzlies 10 points, and the Grizzlies shot 53.9% from the field, hitting 17 out of 40 points from a 3-point range. Memphis had a rebound advantage of 54-42.
Atlanta shot 44.6 percent from the field and made 28 10 from behind the arc, falling to 13-5 under interim coach Nate McMillan.
Memphis dragged 14 people in the first quarter, but recovered to maintain the 67-64 half-time edge. Brooks had 14 points on the break.
The Grizzlies dominated the third quarter, surpassing Atlanta 43-23 and knocking down 17 of 26 field goal attempts. With a sustained and ferocious momentum, McMillan began to use three timeouts in four and a half minutes.
Allen created two three-pointers with a 40-second stretch, giving Memphis 89-75, leaving 6:01, forcing Atlanta’s stanza to time out a second time.
The message was clearly undeciphered as Allen hit another 3 pointer and added a layup over a 16 second span. Anderson stole the ball and threw it out of the glass, setting Morant to a ferocious dunk, leaving 4:52 to 96-75 and signaling McMillan another time-out.
In the second half of Stanza, Morant and Brooks knocked down three back-to-back pointers, increasing the lead to 109-83 with two minutes remaining.
Memphis led 110-87 in the final quarter, while the Hawks moved within 123-106 in Bogdanovich’s three-point play with 5:07 remaining.
Anderson and Morant returned the margin to 23 with three pointers, and Grizzlies cleared the bench for a compelling victory.
