Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — Westport Fire Department After sliding down the embankment, he rescued a seriously injured Great Dane.

After the fall, Presley, a dog over 100 pounds, was injured and unable to return to the steep 60-foot bank. Presley’s owner found her after a while and contacted the fire department.

Westport FD said he had informed Presley’s owner when he received the call that he would not normally rescue the dog.

When the person in charge responded, I decided that I could rescue him safely. According to people familiar with the matter, the crew rescued Presley by using stretchers and ropes to bring Presley to the bank. This took about 45 minutes.

Presley was then taken to a veterinary hospital.
