Green chosen as judge for 10th District Court in Stillwater – Twin Cities

Stillwater’s 10th District Court has a new judge, Francis Green, a former police officer and assistant Attorney General.

Francis Green was appointed as a district court judge in the 10th Judicial District by Governor Tim Walz on March 3, 2021. Green will replace Mary E. Hanon and will be housed in Stillwater, Washington County. (Provided by Governor Tim Walz)

Governor Tim Walz announced on Wednesday that he had elected Green as the judge for the 10th Jurisdiction to replace Judge Mary Hanon.

Green was previously Deputy Attorney General of Minnesota, Chairman of the Model City of St. Paul, and a member of the Woodbury Planning Commission. He is a former police officer in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Currently, Green is a National Real Estate Specialist at the United States Department of Agriculture.

Waltz said in a news release: “Green, who has worked in privately-owned, local, state and federal governments, brings a wide range of legal experience and insights to the bench.”

District 10 includes the counties of Washington, Anoka, Wright, Chisago, Shaban, Isanti, Canavec, and Pine.
