HANCOCK COUNTY — COVID-19 transmission in the county has improved to minimal community spread from last week’s moderate level, according to a new tool from the Indiana State Department of Health.
The state health department’s new online COVID-19 map on Wednesday reported 43 weekly cases per 100,000 residents for Hancock County, down from 66 last week. It also reported a 4.02% seven-day positivity rate for all tests, down from 5.03% last week.
The map is updated every Wednesday and reflects data between the previous two Sundays.
Hancock County added 69 new COVID-19 tests administered, four new cases and no new deaths Wednesday. Its seven-day positivity rate for all tests between Aug. 27 and Sept. 2 is 4.1%, and its cumulative rate is 4.7%
The county’s totals stood at 19,095 tests administered, 14,269 individuals tested, 850 cases and 42 deaths. Its seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals is 5.8% between Aug. 27 and Sept. 2 and its cumulative rate is 6%.
