One of Republican’s main challengers to Attorney General Ken Paxton has begun television advertising earlier than usual, prominently in already crowded and controversial races.

Media purchases were one of the first known television ads of this kind in the 2022 state-wide contest, showing how active the competition to leave Paxton is already. Limited polls have shown that Guzman is far behind Bush and Paxton. But her campaign, which she was economically competitive and called the purchase of new media “important.”

Television advertising for state-wide campaigns is still relatively early. All of Paxton’s major enemies have severely criticized him, but Guzman’s ad does not mention the incumbent, but instead discusses her biography. They also hint at what she sees as her main advantage in primary: her long resume as both a lawyer and a judge.
In her 30-second television ad, Guzman said, “I have court experience to fight and win the radical agenda of the Biden administration.”
“Eva Guzman has the experience, integrity, and conservative principles that the Attorney General of Texas needs,” the narrator said in a one-minute radio spot.
There is not much primary polling. However, according to a study released last month by the Dallas Morning News and the University of Texas at Tyler, Guzman supported only 5% of voters. Voting took place before Klaus participated in the race.
Still, Guzman has a strong fundraiser, raising $ 1 million in the first 10 days of the campaign. During the two recent funding periods from July 7th to September 2nd, Guzman raised $ 221,000 to Paxton’s $ 112,000. Meanwhile, Bush brought in $ 311,000.
In a recent submission to the Texas Institutional Review Board, candidates did not have to disclose the total cash on hand, which indicates the amount of money they would need to spend on things like television advertising.
