HONOLULU (KHON2) —The Hawaii Tourism Board (HTA) is resuming the Community Enrichment Program (CEP). This program supports community events that promote meaningful economic development and provide residents and visitors with a unique experience.
“HTA’s CEP exemplifies different ways tourism can drive our economic diversification by supporting community-based projects and experiences intertwined with other industries and sectors,” HTA said. Kalani Ka’ana’ana, Chief Brand Officer, said. “CEP winners are also essential to advancing each island’s destination management action plan.”

HTA is working with the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) and Island Chapters to manage the 2022 CEP process.
HVCB recently sent a Proposal Request Form (RFP) to the community to fund eligible non-profit organizations and projects in 2022.
According to HTA, CEP is part of HTA’s commitment to Malama Ku, “care for my beloved home” and a key part of the 2025 strategic plan.
However, HTA said the RFP for this program was not published in 2021 due to the pandemic of COVID-19 and the availability of funds.
Therefore, HVCB asks interested non-profit organizations to submit proposals that fall into at least one “tourism niche category” such as agriculture, culture, cooking, nature, education, health and wellness, sports, volunteering, etc. I would like to.
“HVCB and Island Chapter are proud to support and manage HTA’s community enrichment programs on Kauai, Oahu, Maui Inui and Hawaii, respectively,” said John Monaghan, president and CEO of HVCB. Says. “This is in good agreement with our destination management efforts by enhancing the unique services and valuable experiences that the community has developed for the community.”
HVCB will hold virtual RFP information briefings on various islands starting from Kauay Island from 10 am to 11:30 am on October 5th. Hawaii Island, October 5th from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Maui, Morokai, Lanai, October 6th, 10 am-11:30am. Oahu Island from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm on October 7th
The deadline for submitting proposals by email is 4:30 pm on November 5th. For more information on how to submit a proposal or information about zoom sessions from HVCB, please visit. www.hvcb.org/cep..
