Honolulu (KHON2) — A group of Hawaiian Airlines volunteers will assist travelers at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to assist in the influx of passengers this weekend.

Team Kokua will be a purple shirt.

They answer questions, guide you to TSA checkpoints, and guide you to designated check-in lobbies.

Debbie Richards of Team Coqua said: “Our employees are really happy to be able to take advantage of the three-day weekend to relieve the anxiety of passengers slipping into a trip and what their normal experience was like.

“So most of what I’m doing is pulling people out of the wrong line and leading them to the right line,” said Mark Zender of Team Kokua. “So it looks easy, but it’s pretty hard to understand signs and everything else. Different arrows pointing in different directions.”

Team Kokua will be at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport until next Tuesday.
