NBA Draft 2023: Victor Wenbanyama selected first by San Antonio Spurs – Live | NBA

important event

Déjà vu! The Brooklyn Nets are back in action, this time with their own No. 22 pick.

Brooklyn Nets select Noah Clowney with No. 21 pick

The Nets will use Alabama forward Noah Clowney in No. 21. He’s a versatile defender, serial 3-point shooter, and something of a project.

The Brooklyn Nets will then get the 21st pick, but it will be picked via the Phoenix Suns.

Houston Rockets select Cam Whitmore with No. 20 pick

Villanova forward Whitmore’s stock initially rose after an impressive performance on the professional day. He’s one of those players whose highlight reels hint at future stardom. Whitmore has the type of pure athleticism that is impossible to teach, and is often unstoppable once he approaches the rim. It’s a question mark if he’ll develop as an all-around player, but if he does, he could be a steal.

Rumor has it that after the Rockets acquire Amen Thompson and get the first pick, they will take advantage of the Cam Whitmore slide to bring him here. If so, it’s not a bad first round for the Rockets. Whatever concerns you may have about Whitmore, he’s definitely worth the risk here.

And one of my favorite traditions is the draft fashion montage on ESPN broadcasts. This is set to James Brown, the music that makes everything better.

Next up was the Houston Rockets, who picked up the 20th pick from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Golden State Warriors pick Brandin Pojemski with No. 19 pick

The Warriors will select Santa Clara guard Brandin Pojemski with the 19th pick.

I think this player is a perfect fit for Miami. he’s just what he feels.

Next up is the Golden State Warriors, who just acquired Chris Paul, who will be the 19th pick here.

Miami Heat picks Jamie Jacquez Jr. with No. 18 pick

no. In 18th place, the Heat, the unlikely Eastern Conference champions, are tied with UCLA forward Jaquez Jr.

Now the player slipped off the board? Villanova forward Cam Whitmore. There are reports on Twitter that he has an injury concern.

Could Whitmore head to the Miami Heat in 18th place? Let’s check it out!

Los Angeles Lakers select Jalen Hood-Sciffino with No. 17 pick

The Lakers will pick Indiana guard Jalen Hood-Sciffino with the 17th pick.

Jalen Hood-Chiffino will team up with LeBron James next season. Photo: John Minchillo/AP

Jalen Hood-Sciffino, a point guard and shooting guard, hopes he can improve his unreliable 3-point shot.Impressive midrange in modern times, it’s hard to get by with his game alone NBA, especially if you haven’t proven you can make it up at the free-throw line. But defensively, he should be NBA ready.

Next is the Los Angeles Lakers. Who will be LeBron James’ next teammate? As you can see right away, the first is the commercial break.

Utah Jazz select Kiyonte George with No. 16 pick

The Jazz will acquire Baylor guard Kiyonte George with the 16th pick. George is one of those players who has shown a lot of skill, but it’s questionable whether his play will hold up when professional competition heats up, especially on defense. He can benefit from frustration fouls from opposing players due to his ability to slip through opposing defenses.

All college basketball players look 13 and all college baseball players look 33

— Tommy Tomlinson (@tommytomlinson) June 23, 2023

Somehow I blame Rob Manfred.

Now, the Utah Jazz have earned a pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves and have qualified again. Also, since we’re running out of players who pre-made bios, it gets a little redundant from here on out (except for the fact that we’ll continue to use words like “redundant”).

Atlanta Hawks select Kobe Buffkin with No. 15 pick

The Atlanta Hawks selected Michigan guard Kobe Buffkin with the 15th overall pick.

Buffkin’s stock rose during training. He’s a dual-wielding player who’s useful both offensively and defensively, and he can play brilliantly, but he can also play ugly. If he focuses on limiting turnovers, he’s averaging nearly two per game at Michigan, and he feels his scoring ability should keep him in the league.

We’re almost halfway there! Next up is the Atlanta Hawks with the 15th overall pick.

New Orleans Pelicans select Jordan Hawkins with No. 14 pick

The Pelicans will select guard Jordan Hawkins, who was part of the college championship-winning team, with the 14th pick.

There’s always room for shooters in this league, and Jordan Hawkins, who hit 38.8 from the 3-point line last year at University, shows that. There are still some questions about his frame.

Here’s another wrinkle Dallas was down in a trade early in the draft. They made their own trade exception in the process.

The Dallas Mavericks will have a $17 million trade exception from Davis Bertans’ salary dumping.

They project $74 million below the luxury tax with seven players. They plan to use that flexibility to re-sign Kyrie Irving and take advantage of the new $17 million TPE and $12.2 million tax-exempt MLE. https://t.co/doeow5Sj6v

— Yossi Gozlan (@YossiGozlan) June 23, 2023

The New Orleans Pelicans will now take a break from thinking about what to do to pick Zion Williamson in the No. 14 pick.

Toronto Raptors select Grady Dick with No. 13 pick

Grady Dick boldly considered the draft

One season at Kansas, Grady Dick shot 40.3% from 3-point range and didn’t hesitate to do it. That fact alone would probably justify his high draft pick, but he’s skinny and defensively responsible and might be limited to a specialist role. Of course, three-point specialists have never been more valuable.

oh. I think it’s good for them.

Now, as long as you don’t miss the next trade, you’ll have a game with the Toronto Raptors with the 13th pick.

Oklahoma City Thunder picks Derrick Lively II with the 12th overall pick (for Dallas Mavericks)

The Thunder will pick Derrick Lively II with the 12th overall pick, who will then be sent to the Mavericks. (Of course, it’s all on paper, but it doesn’t actually force him to travel.)

A big man who can get close to the basket whether making or blocking shots, Derek Lively II averaged just 5.2 points and had 3 touches last season at Duke. He didn’t, so he’s not a scoring threat at the moment. But at 7ft 1in tall and athletic enough, he’s an interesting prospect who could blossom into a full-fledged impact player under the right circumstances.

Who is Jet Howard’s father?it just so happens NBA Star Juwan Howard was also his coach in Michigan. This draft is truly a family affair.

Therefore, the Oklahoma City Thunder would be the 12th pick outside of the Dallas Mavericks.

Orlando Magic pick Jett Howard with 11th pick

With the 11th pick, the Magic picked Michigan shooting guard Jet Howard. Jett Howard has a 36.8% shooting percentage from the 3-point line, making him a player who can do just about anything on the court, even if he’s not expected to be one of the high-ceilinged types. I’m a person.

And here are the details of the Thunder and Mavericks trade:

Full transaction details:

Thunder receives:
Kayson Wallace (No. 10 pick)
Davis Bertans

Mavericks will receive:
12th pick

(via @wojespn)

— Legion Hoops (@LegionHoops) June 23, 2023

The Orlando Magic are currently eyeing the 11th overall draft pick from the Chicago Bulls.

No, things aren’t going to get that complicated in the future.

Wizards and Pacers trade details. Indiana seems to be winning at this point. But no one knows how the players will develop.

Dallas Mavericks pick Cayson Wallace 10th overall (Oklahoma City Thunder)

The Dallas Mavericks will send Kentucky guard Kayson Wallace with the 10th pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A consummate hustler, Kayson Wallace is a tenacious defender and a solid offensive player, if not yet a consistent scoring threat. In Kentucky, Wallace finished SEC 4th in steals and showed skill in forcing turnovers. In other words, he’s one of those players who can be a total nuisance to his opponents.

Dallas Mavericks trade 10th pick to Oklahoma City Thunder

The Dallas Mavericks are running out of time…and the pick is on the move. They’ll trade it to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a No. 10 pick and a No. 12 pick.

Utah Jazz pick Taylor Hendricks No. 9

At 6-foot-8, UCF forward Taylor Hendricks has the physique to play center, but he’s probably not big.Hendricks transformed into an NBA prospect, partly because he improved his 3-point shooting percentage from 34% in high school. Up to 39.4% at university, while making over 80% of his free throws. One concern is how much of this improvement was real growth rather than statistical anomaly, and whether it will be exposed when Hendrix enters higher levels of competition. .
