Oklahoma City () – The family mourns the deaths of two innocent people, not just one. Police chase Northeastern Oklahoma City.

Star Shells was killed in an accident near NE15 on Monday morning shortly after she dropped her son at schoolth Martin Luther King Jr.

“He was two, not one. The one I loved, the one I didn’t get the chance to do,” said Shell’s mother, Connie Basco.

Basco told News 4 Monday evening that Shells had been pregnant with her fourth child, Elijah, for five months.

“She was preparing to take a baby shower next week. She has her list on the wall. She got everything she did,” Basco said. “Things were just getting better.”

But that sweet future has become shorter.

According to police, Wasey Mikles stole a truck running with the keys lit.

Police reported that car owners could track down stolen trucks on their cell phones and tell police officers where they were.

When they chased it, they tried to pull Mickles, but he ran away.

After 6 minutes of high-speed tracking, Mickles crashed the truck into a shell sedan, leaving behind a twisted pile of metal.

“She wasn’t suffering, they told me she died soon,” Basco said in tears.

Mickles was rushed to the hospital and arrested, which is a bit of comfort to the Shells family.

Rev. T. Sheri Dickerson, Executive Director of Black Lives Matter OKC and a friend of Shells, said:

Dickerson claims that death was avoided.

“I hope it never happens again and that the policy changes where it is not allowed to engage in high-speed police chase,” Dickerson said.

Shells was taking care of the children himself. She and Elijah were prior to death by her young daughter, Gi’onne.

Basco is now focused on caring for her two sons, 7-year-old Jayden and 6-year-old Jace.
