St. Louis (AP) — Dr. Alex Garza, Head of the Pandemic Task Force in the St. Louis region, will be dispatched to Kuwait in July as part of his military service.
Garza, who became known after conducting most public briefings and interviews as commander of the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, said he would be stationed for four months on Wednesday.
Deployment takes place when Missouri is recording Amazing rise COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are due to delta mutations and low vaccination rates in many areas.
St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where representatives from other Task Force hospitals are likely to take over Garza’s mission report.. The Task Force includes four medical systems in the St. Louis region: BJC HealthCare, SSM Health, Mercy, and St. Luke’s Hospital.
Garza, Chief Community Health Officer at SSM Health, is also a Colonel who has worked in the US Army Reserve for over 20 years. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and commander of the 352 Civil Command.
He works as an emergency doctor during deployment.
