Butler, PA (KDKA) — Rain has flooded Butler County.
It all started with a heavy rain on Wednesday morning, and the rain was heavy all day long.
As a result, several fire departments responded and were stuck on a flooded road.
Marshallapone lives on West Bladey Street, a flood-prone area, as it is one of the lowest in the city.
“I came down here and turned on the pump, and it was just poured, poured, poured,” Lapone said. “There are some places in the basement that haven’t been cleaned yet.”
Rapone’s neighbor, Bryan Kendrick, is dissatisfied with the recurring floods caused by debris deposits in nearby streams. He feels that cleaning the stream helps with the problem.
“They aren’t doing anything about the problem,” Kendrick said.
Butler Mayor Ben Smith said the city has been working in the area for 20 years, and state projects are currently bidding to clean up the area.
