Overview. Through the Summer High School Internship Program, we provide local high school students with a research experience. Students will be offered an 8-week training program related to the research focus of the project. This project explores biofilm bacteria and material information, which are the major components of the Earth’s actual biomass. Investigate biofilm images as a format for input data to create and process single / duplicate bacterial visualizations at an unprecedented level of detail. Specifically, observe the growth and function of cell aggregates. This study provides opportunities and funding for students from different disciplines to work together to address real-world biofilm problems using traditional machine learning approaches along with state-of-the-art data science tools / technologies. I’m expecting that.
Dr. Pei-Chi Huang will provide high school students with machine learning research to explore areas related to biofilms and materials informatics, as well as post-undergraduate academic channels to conduct research in these areas. Provides guidance for planning. Students will learn how to use machine learning tools such as Keras and Python. The project will last for 8 weeks (June 1st to July 23rd, you can change the timeline as needed) and students will need to produce a 4-page report on their project experience.
