Codewell, Texas (KXXV) —Four high school volleyball players in Texas were charged with felony after teammates said they had forcibly undressed her on a school bus to expose her genitals.
Students aged 17 and 18 have been publicly charged with obscenity for their children.
According to the arrest affidavit, the incident took place on September 21, when Caldwell High School returned from the match.
A 14-year-old girl told the Sheriff’s Office in Miram County that one of her teammates acted as a “watcher,” another girl held her down, and two undressed.
Caldwell ISD coach Andi Peters said there were four adult staff members on the bus that night.
After the team returned to Caldwell, a 14-year-old sister picked her up.
According to the affidavit, during a cross-examination by the Burrson County Sheriff’s Office, one of the girls said that what happened on the bus was “tradition” because it “occurs every year.”
One lawyer of the suspect disagrees with the statements of the suspect and witnesses
“This is a typical case of overcharging the case,” says Craig Greening. “If I had consulted the DA before getting the arrest warrant, I wouldn’t have been charged this way.”
Peters said there were no surveillance cameras on the school bus when the incident happened. But he said one has been installed since then.
