Hillsborough County, Florida — After this pandemic slowed us all, the “return” is not as easy for many as most while we are steadily walking towards normal. You may notice.

Some people can’t leave the house for many reasons. That means vaccination is complicated. To relieve some of that stress, Hillsborough County launched a program in February. In particular, it aims to make the task a little easier for returning people.

This is a partnership between Hillsborough County and the Crisis Center in Tampa Bay, a non-profit organization that operates transcare medical transport services, providing the county’s most vulnerable people with the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I’m not afraid. I was afraid without vaccination. This makes me feel easier, more confident and fearless,” said Home Vaccination. Cathy Murphy, who received the COVID-19 shot through the program, said.

Paramedics and EMS crew members at Tampa Bay’s Crisis Center struggle to reach the vaccination site due to medical conditions, lack of transportation, etc. in collaboration with nonprofits such as Meals on Wheel and Hillsborough County. Identify potential people.

“Drive-through also doesn’t work for very vulnerable people, and when you think about it, it’s not just the elderly,” said Clara Reynolds, president and chief executive officer of Tampa Bay’s Crisis Center. I did.

Therefore, instead of drive-through, they drive towards you and manage 20 to 50 shots everywhere a day.

“We actually reached 1,000 shots this week,” said Jay Rajyaguru, Emergency Management Coordinator for Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

That’s all since we started the program in mid-February.

“Even though they are returning home, they sometimes interact with their families, but there are workers who serve them, such as partners like Meals on Wheel and long-term care facilities that come and go every day. It’s still important that they have the same level of protection as everyone else, “Rajyaguru said.
