Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV)-If you need to show how cold Nashville is, watch the Pound Hockey Friendly Match at Centennial Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Against the warning to stay in and out of the cold, Benwood and his friends brought their favorite game to the frozen pond in front of the Parthenon.

“There’s something, like putting the game back where it started,” Wood said. “I was digging my heels behind the ice to see if I would fall.”

The ice passed the test and the word quickly spread.

The friendly match started immediately.

“It’s pretty cool to do it outside, not just on a skating rink somewhere, in the body of water,” Turnerwood said.

“This is like a once-in-a-lifetime Nashville opportunity,” Benwood said. “It’s like a stupid boyhood, childlike bliss.”

The bliss of winter with unprecedented temperatures, you may rarely see it on an outdoor skating rink in the south.
